Day 1-2: Delhi
Travel to Delhi, overnight at hotel.

Day 3 : Darjeeling
Darjeeling TourFly Delhi to Bagdogra, drive to Darjeeling The road winds up to Darjeeling's hilltop perch. Settle into this charming historic town, well loved for its fresh air and sense of style. (7000')

Day 4 : Darjeeling
Darjeeling: Spend the day visiting the Himalayan Mountaineering Museum, the Zoo, and the Tibetan refuge center. Relax over a cup of tasty highland tea in your room with a view.

Day 5 : Darjeeling to Pemayangtse
Drive Darjeeling to Pemayangtse: Visit a tea estate en route to Sikkim. Drive to Pemayangtse/ Pelling, where you'll overnight in a Sikkimese style hotel. (6800')

Day 6: Pemayangtse to Yuksom
Awake to a bird's eye view of Kangchendzonga and surrounding peaks. Visit Pemayangtse Monastery and Khechepalri (wish-fulfilling) Lake, and then drive to Yuksom to learn about conservation and ecotourism activities. Camp (5840')

Day 7 : Trek Yuksom to Tsokha
Begin with a morning trek through the rich and diverse forests of Kangchendzonga National Park. After lunch, climb steeply to Tsokha, with views of Mt. Pandim (10,760'),

Day 8 :Trek Tsokha to Phedang
Ascend through a magical forest of rhododendron trees: "one of the most beautiful forests in all the Himalaya." The afternoon is free to roam or rest. Camp. (11,700')

Day 9 : Trek Phedang to Dzongri
A half-day trek to Dzongri leaves time to check out the bird and plant-life. Day-hike to a viewpoint, with magnificent views of the snow-bound peaks. Camp (12,600').

Day 10 : Trek Dzongri to Riverside Camp
Descend into the upper Prek Chu valley. Camp at 12,000' by the river and rhododendron groves.

Day 11 : Trek Riverside to Samiti
Continue up a long valley, with aromatic shrub rhododendron, Kangchendzonga on the horizon. Camp (13,500')

Day 12 : Trek Samiti to Goechela to Thangsing
Rise early to catch the best views of the peaks. Climb to Goechela (16,200'), looking squarely on Mt. Kangchendzonga. Descend to camp at Thangsing (12,500').

Day 13 : Trek Thangsing to Tsokha
Take an alternate route to Phedang, through a forest of towering firs. Camp or continue to Tsokha.

Day 14 : Trek Tsokha to Yuksom
Reach Yuksom by mid-afternoon, and relax in a comfortable lodge (with hot showers!) (5860')

Do-drol Stupa, Gangtok, India Day 15 : Drive Yuksom to Martam
Drive to Martam, passing scattered villages where cardamom grows. Overnight at Martam Village Resort.

Day 16 : Martam
Visit Rumtek Monastery, a masterpiece of color and pageantry. Return to the quiet gardens and Sikkimese home-cooked.

Day 17 : Gangtok
Visit Do-Drul Chorten, one of the Sikkim's most important stupas, and the nearby Institute of Tibetology. A final farewell dinner.

Day 18 : Bagdogra
Drive to Bagdogra, fly to Delhi: Overnight or connect to flight.
