Taj Mahal Festival in AgraThe Taj Mahotsava is the most awaited Festivals of the year and is celebrated from 18th to 27th February at Shilpgram near the eastern gate of Taj Mahal. The 10 days of celebration is the platform that brings the finest art and culture of the country at one place. In this festival there is an exclusive range of the art, craft, culture and cuisines.
About Taj Mahotsava: This cultural event has been started in the year 1992 and now it has been shining in the sky. In the year 2009 the festival has completed 18th year. In the month of February heavy number of tourists throng at Agra to attend the event. The major objective of the crafts mela in Agra is to encourage the artisans. One can get these arts and crafts at very reasonable and authentic prices as these are not influenced by the maintainence cost.
In the Arts and Crafts section there are 400 artisans from all parts of the country who gets the opportunity to display their art. Wood carving from Saharanpur, brass wares from Moradabad, hand made carpets from Bhadohi, pottery from Khurja, chikan work from Lucknow, silk and zari from Banaras, shawls and carpets from Kashmir and Gujarat, hand printing from Farrukhabad and kantha stitch from West Bengal. In the Taj Mahotsava the visitor can also experience the majestic performances by the artists from every part of the country. A traveler can also see the folk and the classical performance from every part of the country. The popular dance form from the world renowned artists from classical, semi- classical and art forms.

The tickets to the Taj Mahotsava can be purchased from the ticket window on all the entry gates.
Children who are below 10 years have free entry.
All foreign visitors are having free entry.
There are no separate ticket to attend the cultural program.
